We left Taos for Mesa Verde nice and early. Hit the Rio Grande Gorge a few miles out of town.
Saw the Southwest version of Chimney Rock
and then stopped in Durango for lunch, shopping and to pick up a few supplies for our 2 days of camping in MV National Park. This is the views we saw as we reached Mesa Verde National Park!
We set up camp and had our first hike of the trip. Prater Ridge Trail. Up the side of a mesa...almost to the top! About 3 miles and elevation 7500ft!
